Viper Band and Vision Family

We are quickly approaching our final two weeks of the season! We have a BIG weekend on Saturday as we travel to the UIL Area H Marching Contest in San Antonio. Please take an opportunity to take a detailed look at the Announcement Sheet. There is quite a bit of information regarding itineraries for the next two weeks. Many parents have asked for a State Marching Contest Itinerary. If the band advances past Area, a detailed State itinerary will be released the following day (10/31). With that said, I have provided some general information regarding our potential trip to San Antonio as well as the Prescription Medication Form utilized for overnight trips (Info included in the Announcement Sheet).

Students – make sure you come ready to go tomorrow! We have a big week to wrap up our academic grading period and prepare for the Area Marching Contest. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Welcome to the Band Department of Vandegrift High School

The Instrumental Music Department at Vandegrift High School enrolls over 300 students from the 9th through 12th grades who study with a dedicated teaching faculty as well as private lesson instructors.

Our Philosophy of Education

Music is a fundamental piece of the human experience. Music Education is therefore a necessary endeavor to ensure that the whole child is being educated. This includes skill development, cognitive understanding, and aesthetic appreciation for many forms of music.

The primary objective of the Vandegrift High School Instrumental Music Department is to develop the performance, rehearsal, and personal practice skills of each student. The vision for the program is to “Define the Standard” in all we do.
