Happy Sunday, Viper Band and Vision Families!

Congratulations to our students on their two fabulous performances at the Bands of America Austin Regional. The Viper Band and Vision Dance Company were named the 2024 Regional Champions on Saturday night at the conclusion of the event, sweeping all three caption awards for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance, and Outstanding General Effect. The band also won the preliminary contest and all captions for Class 4A. Students are encouraged to wear their medals to school on Tuesday to allow other teachers and peers to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment.

Our staff is so proud of the professionalism and poise demonstrated by all of our students throughout the day on Saturday (it was a long day!). We are also grateful for all of our volunteers and support team who made the event go so smoothly. Thank you to family, friends, and alumni who came to cheer the band on. It was an inspiring experience for our community.

Speaking of community …we look forward to seeing everyone out in full force to support our Vandegrift Vipers as we take on the Vista Ridge Rangers Friday night at 7:00pm, at Monroe Stadium. The band will perform PREGAME, and it is best to arrive by 6:00pm for seats and parking. This is also our 8th-grade night, and we welcome students from Canyon Ridge and Four Points to this event. They will perform at halftime with the band in what is sure to be a memorable evening for all.

We have included the schedule for the upcoming LISD Festival of Bands on September 30th — and details on purchasing tickets for this event. The LISD Band Festival will feature performances from all six high schools in the district, plus 8th graders. All band and Vision members attend and perform.
