Good Morning, Viper Band and Vision Families!
We’ve had another terrific week of rehearsals and clinician visits working towards our upcoming performances and competitions. We also kicked off Mulch Madness on Tuesday morning. Thank you to our students who have set up their profiles and entered all their mulch contacts. We have a goal of over $160,000 in mulch sales or donations, and we’re counting on each of our students to help us reach that target. Keep an eye out for emails from our fundraising chair, Adam Plummer, with more details on how to order and delivery dates.
Please see the Weekly Announcement Sheet for information about rehearsals for the upcoming week. Next week is the annual Texas Music Educators Association conference in San Antonio. Starting next Wednesday, over 30,000 teachers, students, and family members will attend the conference. We wish our ten all-state students the best as they travel to the Alamo City to rehearse and perform with their respective ensembles. The band directors will also be in San Antonio Thursday through Saturday for the event. During classes on Thursday and Friday, our students will have independent study/practice time. Additionally, all band students will try on their formal UIL concert attire in classes to ensure everything fits properly. Brass students will try formal attire on Thursday and woodwinds and percussion on Friday. Please bring undergarments that you would wear with your formal attire to get a proper fitting.
More information about Hawaii itineraries will be released soon. On March 10, we’ll have a mandatory pre-departure meeting with all our students and chaperones traveling. Mark your calendars!
Enjoy your weekend, and we’ll see everyone on Monday. Go Vipers!
