Happy Friday, Viper Band and Vision Families!

We are excited for our game tonight at Kelly Reeves against Westlake HS, which begins at 7:00 p.m. We will perform our full show at halftime and then depart immediately afterward — a reminder we will be back earlier at VHS tonight.

Please see the Weekly Announcement Sheet for upcoming schedules and other important information. We have included the schedule for next week’s Bands of America Super Regional contest in San Antonio. After halftime, we will leave next week’s game so band members can rest before our performance.

We will know more about the band’s potential schedule for the 6A UIL State Marching Contest after AREA tomorrow and will be in touch on Sunday with schedule plans.

Welcome to the Band Department of Vandegrift High School

The Instrumental Music Department at Vandegrift High School enrolls over 300 students from the 9th through 12th grades who study with a dedicated teaching faculty as well as private lesson instructors.

Our Philosophy of Education

Music is a fundamental piece of the human experience. Music Education is therefore a necessary endeavor to ensure that the whole child is being educated. This includes skill development, cognitive understanding, and aesthetic appreciation for many forms of music.

The primary objective of the Vandegrift High School Instrumental Music Department is to develop the performance, rehearsal, and personal practice skills of each student. The vision for the program is to “Define the Standard” in all we do.
