Happy Friday, Viper Band and Vision Families!

Thank you for your patience today as we worked around the transportation issues with the Manor game. We are disappointed we could not attend and look forward to our homecoming game next week against Hutto. We will also have the Homecoming Parade and Performance on Wednesday evening next week. Please encourage family and friends to come out to Monroe Stadium on Wednesday night 10/23 for our homecoming parade at 6pm, and our pep rally at 7pm. Band and Vision will perform our full show in full uniform at the pep rally.

Please see the Weekly Announcement Sheet for upcoming schedules and other important information. We have included the tentative schedule for the UIL Area H Marching Competition on Saturday, November 2nd, in Converse (San Antonio), TX. Tickets for AREA are available here.

Welcome to the Band Department of Vandegrift High School

The Instrumental Music Department at Vandegrift High School enrolls over 300 students from the 9th through 12th grades who study with a dedicated teaching faculty as well as private lesson instructors.

Our Philosophy of Education

Music is a fundamental piece of the human experience. Music Education is therefore a necessary endeavor to ensure that the whole child is being educated. This includes skill development, cognitive understanding, and aesthetic appreciation for many forms of music.

The primary objective of the Vandegrift High School Instrumental Music Department is to develop the performance, rehearsal, and personal practice skills of each student. The vision for the program is to “Define the Standard” in all we do.
