Viper Band and Vision Family,

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to the Vision Dance Company on Outstanding Performances last week. They were SO IMPRESSIVE!!

We have a busy week! We have a booster meeting on Tuesday where we will talk through next year’s marching show along details of year-end events. I HIGHLY encourage your attendance at this meeting. We also have a Pre-UIL concert on Wednesday and Mulch Delivery this weekend. Students- Please look carefully at your rehearsal schedule for the week as well as your timeline for Pre-UIL. ALL parents are welcome to attend their student’s Pre-UIL performance.

As a reminder – any student wishing to audition for the 2022-2023 Band and Vision Leadership Team must attend tomorrow’s leadership audition meeting/training. There will be marching training involved, so students should plan accordingly. (Athletic shoes, water, comfortable clothes, etc.)

Welcome to the Band Department of Vandegrift High School

The Instrumental Music Department at Vandegrift High School enrolls over 300 students from the 9th through 12th grades who study with a dedicated teaching faculty as well as private lesson instructors.

Our Philosophy of Education

Music is a fundamental piece of the human experience. Music Education is therefore a necessary endeavor to ensure that the whole child is being educated. This includes skill development, cognitive understanding, and aesthetic appreciation for many forms of music.

The primary objective of the Vandegrift High School Instrumental Music Department is to develop the performance, rehearsal, and personal practice skills of each student. The vision for the program is to “Define the Standard” in all we do.
