Greetings Viper Band and Vision families!
I hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer vacation. I cannot tell you enough how much I enjoyed May camp, working with the band, and meeting so many of you. What an exciting start to our journey together!
I am back in Texas for a few days this week after moving up to Castleton State University in Vermont on 5/23 with the Boston Crusaders Drum Corps for our summer training camp. I will be on the road teaching the corps for most of the summer through July 16th. That said, Mrs. VanDoren and I have been in touch regularly as we continue to navigate our transition and will remain in close contact. The other directors have been remarkable in actively managing end-of-year logistics and drum major camp.
Traditionally, I have practiced keeping my distance and respecting everyone’s time and space between Memorial Day and July 4th, specifically not sending out emails or asking students to complete summer assignments during that window. Our years are so busy, and our summers are so short—we all need time to recover and enjoy life with family and friends.
Mrs. VanDoren indicated she would typically reach out on June 1st and July 1st with some updates, so I am sending a note today with a few gentle reminders and updates. And, although I will not send many notes now, I want to emphasize that I am here to support you and will respond to your questions as they come up, both on email and on the parent Facebook group. Your concerns and questions are always welcome.
Have a great day,
Mr. Lipman
