Band Aid Signup

COVID-19 Procedures:

  • Volunteers will complete a COVID-19 pre-screening questionnaire (provided) prior to arrival at VHS
  • Volunteers are required to bring and wear a face mask at all times. Gloves and cleaning supplies will be provided. Face shields will also be available.
  • Please notify the band aid chair and/or band director if a student seen during your shift develop symptoms consistent with COVID-19
  • You will be notified by the band director if a student with whom you have had contact develops signs of, comes in contact with, or is diagnosed with COVID-19
  • You are required to notify the band director if you develop signs of, come in contact with, or are diagnosed with COVID-19 within 2 weeks of your shift

LOGISTICS:

Prepare and take the following items to the practice marching field (concrete) using either your personal vehicle or the VHS Band Golf Cart.

From Mr. Howard’s or Ms. Vandoren’s office:

  • Red Trapper Keeper Binder with confidential medical information/over-the-counter forms
  • KEYS to golf cart will be in the Red Binder

From the hydration room next to the band hall doors (Mr. Tharp has the keys if this room is locked):

  • 1 orange water jug, ½ full of ice (from ice machine) and water (from water hose next to ice machine) to be used for wetting paper towels as needed
  • 1 medium blue and white square cooler ½ filled with ice to be used for ice packs as needed 
  • 1-2 ice scoops (on shelves or in/on blue cooler)
  • 1 orange bucket to be used as orange water jug stand

From band portable building (portable classroom building closest to the band field):

  • 10 small bottles of water for blue ice chest. These are for the electrolyte powder packets
  • 1-2 folding tables
  • 1 folding bench
  • 10 folding chairs
  • Rolling red med bag
  • Rolling clear plastic supplies box

At the band field:

  • Upon arrival at band field, set up tables, chairs (6-10 ft apart), coolers and needed supplies under trees to right front of band field
  • Keep kids/chairs 6-10 feet apart
  • Ice water and ice from the coolers are NOT for consumption and are for external use only.  Extra water bottles are for students who run out of water or who need to mix electrolyte powder packets
  • Wet paper towels (not reusable washcloths) are to be used for cooling necks/heads with ice water from orange cooler
  • Only LISD trained medical chaperones may access the red notebook and/or dispense over-the-counter medicines
  • Document on clipboard in red binder all students presenting to Band Aid area
  • Upon completion of a shift, please wipe all touched items, chairs, tables with the provided disinfectant spray
  • Please return all items as found, dump coolers before storing with lids propped open for drying (unused water bottles may be left in the cooler for next day use)

Enjoy assisting students as needed AND listen to some great music!
