Hello Band and Vision family!

The band hall is open and it’s starting to feel like marching season (don’t you feel that little chill in the air?)!

Here are a few quick but very important notes:

Saturday – Required Registration day for all!

If you have completed all of your online forms, this will be super quick!

  • Upon arrival during your designated registration time on July 28th, (Last Names A-E: 9-10, F-L: 10-11, M-R: 11-12, S-Z: 12-1) you will receive an invoice which will indicate that all forms have been completed (if you did them online) Or which forms you are missing. You will then visit the remaining stations  (if any) where you will receive locker assignments, pick up any uniform items, check/receive equipment, confirm or change your hoodie/duffel order, get your picture taken, and check out.
  • For everyone, whether you registered online or not, bring a copy of your signed (student, parent and doctor) 2018-19 Physical and a copy of your insurance card (front and back) to Registration Day – a current physical is required in order to participate in Summer Band.
  • Those who have not completed the online forms will have to do so using specific computers at the Band Hall on Saturday morning during your designated registration time mentioned above.

First Booster Club Meeting of the Year – Tuesday, July 31st, 7:00 p.m.

Parents are encouraged to attend our very first booster meeting of the year.  The directors will give us important information about the show and the fall schedule, and the booster officers will be present to discuss the many ways your can get involved this fall.  You will not want to miss it!  Students are not required to attend, but certainly may.

Volunteering

We have kept most of the sign-ups for the fall “locked down” until after the Booster meeting to allow everyone an equal opportunity to get a spot.  We will send an email when the sign-ups are ready to go!

Uniform help is needed!

Karen Norrod, our Uniform chair, could use some help with uniform adjustments (sewing, steaming pressing) the next few weeks.  Please write her directly if you can help her out.  It’s inside and you get to hang out in the band hall and get a sneak peak at what the students are working on.  Please contact her directly at uniforms@vhsband.com, or you may next Karen at 512.656.6185. No experience required!

Thanks all, and I’ll see you Saturday!
