Viper Band Family,

The UIL Concert Competition season ended yesterday with two outstanding performances by the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.  Both ensembles received first division ratings from all judges! With that, EVERY CONCERT ENSEMBLE from our cluster (MS and HS) received first division ratings from all judges at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest.

To put things in perspective, that’s 60 first division ratings from 60 different judges and 10 UIL Sweepstakes Trophies (received when earning a first division in concert and sightreading).  The students from Canyon Ridge MS, Four Points MS and Vandegrift HS continue to Define the Standard for performance expectations in Central Texas.  Congratulations to the students, parents, Mrs. Allison, Mr. Yee, Mrs. Gonzales, Mr. Matchsek, Mr. Villela, Ms. Dawson, Mrs. Grote, Mrs. VanDoren, Mr. Hobbs and Mr. Warren on this outstanding achievement.

These results are truly remarkable and should be celebrated by all. It’s just another reminder for me personally, to never take for granted how special of a place this cluster is.  Please enjoy this long weekend with your family, and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

Go Vipers.
