This past weekend, 18 students from the Vandegrift High School Band competed in the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest at the University of Texas.
The following students were participants at the contest:
Craig Wolf, Nick Muirhead, Neha Mulpuri, Caitlin Hall, Sophie Grossman, Janet Karpenske, Lienne Ng, Sara Gravely, Sarah Hassall, Moriah Gonzalez, Calvin Geng, Matt Szostak, Kyle Richardson, Rachael Klein, Kristen Abbarno, Rhea Adhikary, Amulya Angajala and Caitlin Hall.
Of those 18 students, 12 students earned UIL State Medals by receiving either a first or second division rating on their solo.
First Division, Superior, Medal Winners were – Caitlin Hall, Neha Mulpuri, Kyle Richardson, Rachael Klein, Kristen Abbarno and Rhea Adhikary.
Second Division, Excellent, Medal Winners were – Craig Wolf, Sophie Grossman, Janet Karpenske, Lienne Ng, Sara Gravely, Sarah Hassall, and Caitlin Hall.
